Maybe it’s because we have not asked: we have not because we ask not!!
• Maybe we are quite happy with the gift of salvation.
• Maybe we are lazy, or we don’t really BELIEVE or apply the bible in its fullness to our lives.
• Maybe they have been voted down by man.
• Maybe we are not saved?
We know that common core is dumbing down the state educational systems around us but what is dumbing down the church… Do we even ask for the gifts that God said he gave to the church!!!!
1 Corinthians 12:31 (KJV)
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: …
b [covet] Greek: zeloo (GSN-<G2206>), eager rivalry; strong passion for a thing. Note f, Acts 5:17.
c [best] Greek: kreitton (GSN-<G2909>), stronger; better; greater; superior. Translated “best” (1Cor. 12:31) and “better” 18 times (1Cor. 7:9,38; 11:17; Php. 1:23; Heb. 1:4; 6:9; 7:7,19,22; 8:6,9-13; 10:34; 11:35,40; 12:24; 1Pet. 3:17; 2Pet. 2:21). All the gifts are necessary for the proper and complete operation of the body of Christ (1Cor. 12:12-28).
Here is a command for all believers to covet earnestly the gifts
1 Corinthians 14:1 (KJV)
1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
But what really are His gifts.
Why is this important? So we can operate in the power the grace or the obedience that God would have for us to operate in. WE should be a perennial POWER HOUSE in the Land!!!
But if we are weak and powerless and graceless and have no answered prayer, and LEAVE NO MARK ON THE COMMUNITY… Church that is not what God intended it to be!!!
What a great sin against God, to neglect so great salvation and to neglect the so great sanctification and to minimize what Jesus did upon the cross and beyond.
Today we need to do something: Are [you] ready?…
